  1. Other than Ringo, Roger Daltry might be the most under-rated artist from the classic-rock era. His solo music was top-notch and 'Ride a Rock Horse' might have been the best of the bunch (certainly the best cover). 'Oceans Away' is one of his best songs as is 'I Was Born to Sing Your Song' (strangely not a single or on his greatest hits)/5(17).

  3. Ride a Rock Horse is a decent album worthy of a fairly high rating, though I like his first album more. I dunno, perhaps the songwriting throughout the album just feels like it's a step down from his first album (called Daltrey) or maybe I just can't wrap my head around that darn sax! Wow is that album /5(23).

  8. Those who possess too many Bentleys can take heart that it's not only awful s Brit Pop non-events who bicker over one of their ranks doing the dreaded solo album. More of an audition for some Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice horror show, only Roger's professional ethics ensures a second listen. Away from his comfort blanket of Pete Townshend's pen, Daltrey lacks enough leeway to make his mark.
